Girl with Pearl Earring

Version of "Girl with a Pearl Earring"

Pencil on paper, 26 Feb. 2005

Vermeer's "Girl with Pearl Earring" is one the most beautiful paintings ever made. Some consider it the "Monalisa of the North". It was a challenge to copy this portrait, since it has so many light efects. The earring is competing with the eyes of the model to become the center of attention, adding each other all their charm and beauty.

I modified slightly the scarf over the head to make it more ellegant.
