Solar Wind

"Solar wind"

Washed ink, pen and watercolor on paper, 7 Sep 1977

Solar wind is the term to describe the radiation coming out of the sun that reaches the whole solar system. The concept of "solar wind" triggered my imagination: A sun in a windy sky with clouds and planets hanging close to each other. A beautiful vision...

Back in the 1977 I was a young unemployed student with a fondness to stain paper with "graphic notes" for future projects of larger size. These notes were made on any kind of paper I could get in small sizes. Many of my older paintings are square, like this 9 x 9 cm, the source being a note block pad.
